June on the California coast means long evenings, shifting fog, and the particular quality of light that travels a long way before it reaches the shore. The work in this exhibition is in conversation with that light — catching it, holding it, letting it pass through.
Glass bends and transforms it. Gemstones hold it in their facets. Watercolor follows where it dissolves into water. Encaustic wax holds it inside the surface, glowing from within. Photography fixes the instant before it moves on. Abstract painting carries the feeling of it long after the day has ended.
